What to know about Teal and Turquoise Coffee Makers
Teal is filed under blue in this site's filters and given its own page here, because those two facts serve different people. Somebody ticking blue should still be shown a teal kettle; somebody who came looking for teal specifically does not want cobalt.
It is a small shelf, and that is the main constraint
Fewer than ten machines here offer a teal finish, so this page is a list of what exists rather than a ranking of a field. If none of them is the machine you want, the practical move is to choose on specification from the wider blue list and accept a colour close to teal rather than exactly it.
Where teal stops and blue or green begins
Teal sits between the two, and makers use the word loosely - some of what is sold as teal is closer to petrol blue and some is nearer sage. There is no standard, so judge from the photographs on this page rather than from the name on the box, and expect a teal machine to read as green in warm kitchen light and as blue in daylight.

Is teal the same as blue?
No, and keeping the two apart is why this page exists. Teal, turquoise, aqua and mint are green-blues: beside a true blue machine they read as a different colour entirely, and somebody who searched for blue and got turquoise has been sold the wrong thing. The blue page here has no turquoise on it.
Why do makers call teal machines blue?
Because the word sells and the shade has no settled name. The machines here are sold as Robin's Egg Blue by Cuisinart, Aqua by Primula, Spring Green by Stanley and Oasis by Keurig. Does teal date?
More than most finishes. It reads as retro rather than modern, which is exactly why people choose it, and it is the shade most likely to look of its decade in ten years. Against that it is usually the only interesting thing on a white counter. It also tends to be offered alongside a black and a steel rather than instead of them, so if you want a matching second machine later, check the shade is still listed rather than assuming.
