Best Coffee Subscriptions 2026
Find the best coffee subscriptions, whether you want one roaster's coffee on repeat or a curated box from many. The sales page rarely leads with what matters, so each service is compared on the price per kilo, whether coffee is roasted to order, shipping, and whether you can pause or cancel online.

How to choose a coffee subscription
A coffee subscription sells you two things: the coffee, and a standing arrangement. The coffee is the easy half. The arrangement is where subscriptions are good or bad, and it is why the heaviest criterion on this page is not about taste at all.
Where the 100 points go
All rating rules →6 of the 6 criteria are explained below; the rest link to how they are scored.

Getting out is 24 of the 100 points, the heaviest criterion here
A subscription you cannot leave is a bad subscription at any price, so this is scored first and scored hardest.
Every service on this page lets you cancel from your own account without a phone call, which is the floor rather than an achievement - and it is worth knowing that the floor is this high before you are impressed by a service advertising it.
This is the one you will use. Misto's reschedule moves the next shipment up to 90 days out; Driftaway, Origin and Stumptown all let you change the interval from the account. A service that only offers cancel is asking you to leave rather than pause.
Where a service publishes no notice period, it scores nothing for it here. The date your card is charged is not always the date your coffee ships, and that gap is where an unwanted bag comes from.
Cost is 22 points, and the bag price is the misleading half
The spread on this page is $12.67 to $22.00, and the bag is not the same size everywhere, which is exactly why the bag price alone is the wrong number to compare.
This is the honest comparison, and it reorders the page: $43.98 at Peet's, $49.97 at Black Rifle, $52.94 at Intelligentsia, $55.81 at Volcanica, up to $70.94 at Trade. A service can look cheap per bag and sit near the top per kilo.
until you are inside the signup, and that is a real finding rather than an oversight on our side: nine of the twelve list no public starting price.
Freshness is 16 points, and almost nobody puts a number on it
Worth 4.5 points, and stated by Intelligentsia, Misto, Trade, Volcanica and Origin. It is the single clearest freshness claim a roaster can make.
Worth 3.5 points, and Origin is the only service here publishing an actual figure - one day. Everyone else describes freshness without measuring it, and a description scores less than a number.
The date on the bag is what lets you check the claim after the fact, which is why it is scored separately from the promise.
Choice is 16 points, and there are two completely different models
This splits the category in half. Bean Box works with 64 roasters and Misto with 60; Trade lists 450+ coffees on its top tier. Everyone else on this page is a single roastery selling its own coffee. Neither is better - a marketplace is for exploring, a single roastery is for consistency - but they are not the same product and the choice between them is the real decision here.
Atlas names six grinds including AeroPress and cold brew; Origin offers whole bean, filter or AeroPress. If you own a grinder this is worth nothing to you, and if you do not it is the difference between good coffee and a bag you cannot brew properly.
What arrives is 12 points
Claimed by most of this page, and worth 3.5 points.
Worth 2.5. Nearly every service offers one, and Atlas is built entirely on it - every coffee it sends is a single origin.
Delivery and straight answers are 10 points
Four points simply for publishing it, and it is the question most often left unanswered. Origin ships worldwide, Atlas to the US and Canada, Trade to the US only. If a service does not say, assume it does not reach you.
Stumptown offers every one, two, three, four, five, six or eight weeks. Black Rifle offers 14, 21, 30 or 60 days. The right interval is the one that matches how fast you actually drink coffee, and getting it wrong is the most common reason people cancel.

Coffee subscription FAQs
What is the best coffee subscription?
It depends on what you want. Trade, Bean Box and Misto suit people who want variety from many roasters. Stumptown, Intelligentsia and Blue Bottle suit people who want one roaster they trust. Peet's and Black Rifle are the lower-cost options. Match the service to the problem you are solving rather than looking for one winner.
Are coffee subscriptions worth it?
They are worth it if you drink a bag every two to three weeks and would otherwise buy supermarket beans. You gain fresher coffee, no shopping trips and often free shipping. They are less useful if you drink little coffee, switch brewers often or already have a local roaster you visit.
Can you pause or cancel a coffee subscription?
At most of the services reviewed, yes, and from your own account page with no phone call. Stumptown, Blue Bottle, Trade, Bean Box and Peet's all state it plainly. Origin handles pausing and cancelling through a phone app, and a prepaid balance at Misto renews automatically, so read the terms before you start.
How often should a coffee subscription deliver?
Match the interval to how fast you drink. A 12 oz bag lasts roughly ten days at two cups a day and about three weeks at one. Pick every two weeks for two cups a day, monthly for one. Services with several intervals, such as Stumptown, make it easier to adjust.
Do coffee subscriptions include free shipping?
Some do on every order, including Intelligentsia, Stumptown, Blue Bottle, Peet's, Black Rifle and Volcanica. Trade only includes it if you prepay for three, six or twelve bags or take its 2lb plan. Podium adds a flat fee, and Bean Box does not publish its subscription shipping rate.
Is a roaster subscription better than a marketplace?
Neither is better, they solve different problems. A roaster club gives consistency from one roastery. A marketplace such as Trade, Misto or Bean Box gives variety from many roasters and works well while you are still finding your taste. Many people start with a marketplace and move to a club.
Should I get whole bean or ground coffee?
Whole bean keeps its flavor longer, so choose it if you own any grinder. Ground suits people without one, but the grind must match your brewer. Atlas, Driftaway and Black Rifle offer ground options, while Podium ships whole bean only and suits owners of a grinder.
Is there a coffee subscription with a free trial or money-back guarantee?
Atlas offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. Trade's first bag is free on its Discovery Trial, and its First Bag Guarantee replaces or rematches the first coffee rather than refunding it. Bean Box gives a free bag on joining. Most others state no money-back guarantee, so start with a short plan.
Is there a cheap coffee subscription worth buying?
Origin Coffee Subscription is the least expensive we have reviewed in this category at $16. Cheapest is not the same as best value: the review says which corners were cut.
How much does a coffee subscription cost?
The ones we have reviewed run from about $16 to $24.50. Price tracks build material, capacity and how much of the specification the maker publishes.
