What is Skylorin mushroom coffee?

Instant coffee with mushroom extracts, in a stick rather than a scoop.

Skylorin publishes a micronised instant coffee powder blended with seven mushroom extracts, collagen, ashwagandha and L-theanine, 30 single-serve sticks, low acidity, and solubility in hot or cold water.

Before anything else: this listing also makes claims about focus, energy, digestion, skin and immune support. None of that is recorded on this site and none of it is repeated here. We score what a coffee is and how it was made. What a seller says it will do for your body is not a specification, and a review site that passes those claims along has stopped being a review site.

What mushroom coffee actually is

Coffee with fungal extracts blended in, at a ratio the makers rarely publish.

The mushrooms are not the ones you cook with. Chaga, lion's mane, reishi, cordyceps and turkey tail are dried, extracted into a soluble powder, and mixed with instant coffee. The result dissolves like instant because that is what most of it is.

The ratio matters and is almost never stated. A blend can be predominantly coffee with a token quantity of extract, or genuinely half and half, and the label rarely tells you which. Skylorin does not publish a ratio, and neither does Ryze.

What is fair to say is that mushroom blends taste different from coffee. Skylorin publishes having engineered out the earthy aftertaste, which is a tacit admission that the default version has one.

The stick format, which is the real difference here

Mushroom coffee is usually a bag of powder and a scoop, and it clumps.

Most mushroom coffee is sold as a resealable pouch. Extract powders are more hygroscopic than plain instant, so they cake in a humid kitchen faster and the scoop stops being a consistent dose.

Sealed sticks solve that and make the product portable, which a pouch is not. Combined with published cold solubility, it is the most practical version of this category we have listed.

Is it worth it?

Worth it if you already drink mushroom coffee. Nothing here is an argument to start.

If this is a product you buy, the stick format and cold solubility are genuine improvements over a pouch, and 30 servings is a month.

Skylorin publishes no process, no origin, no certifications, no coffee-to-mushroom ratio and no price per serving. It is the least documented product in this category and it scores that way.

Who should buy it (and who should not)

Buy it if mushroom coffee is already part of your routine and you want it portable.

It suits somebody switching from a pouch, and anybody who wants it iced, since cold solubility is published.

Do not buy it as coffee, because it is a blend and it tastes like one. And if you are buying it for the reasons the listing gives, this site is not the place to have those claims confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is in mushroom coffee?

Instant coffee blended with dried, extracted mushroom powders. Skylorin publishes seven mushrooms plus collagen, ashwagandha and L-theanine, without stating the ratio.

Does it taste like coffee?

It tastes like a blend. Skylorin publishes having removed the earthy aftertaste, which tells you the default version has one.

Why do you not repeat the health claims?

Because they are marketing rather than specification. This site scores what a coffee is and how it was made.

Does it dissolve in cold water?

Yes, published for hot or cold, which is unusual for a mushroom blend.
